In East China, the mainstream ex-factory price ranged from 6,800 to 6,900 yuan, with the high end dropping by 300 yuan compared to the previous weekend. North China saw prices between 6,700–6,850 yuan, while Central China remained at 6,550–6,850 yuan, with the low end down by 100 yuan. South China’s range was 6,800–6,850 yuan, with the high end down by 50 yuan. Northeast China reported prices between 6,300–6,700 yuan, a drop of 100–300 yuan, and Northwest China saw a decrease of 100–150 yuan, with prices at 6,300–6,550 yuan. In terms of market analysis, the recent rise in external tray toluene prices due to hurricane-related disruptions has caused a sharp reversal in the domestic market, exerting strong upward pressure on local prices. With the National Day holiday approaching, domestic suppliers have reduced their quotations to speed up shipments, widening the gap between domestic and international markets. This has provided support for current prices, but the coming long holiday is likely to create a wait-and-see attitude among traders, potentially slowing transactions. The decline in demand could also put downward pressure on prices. Turning to xylene, the market remained relatively stable last week. Early in the week, trading was slow as buyers waited for further price drops. However, the market later showed some upward movement, though it weakened toward the weekend. In East China, xylene prices were between 7,100–7,200 yuan, up 100 yuan from the previous week. In South China, prices dropped by 150–200 yuan, settling at 7,300–7,400 yuan. Domestic xylene ex-factory prices declined steadily throughout the week. In East China, the mainstream price was 6,900–7,050 yuan, with the low end falling by 150–300 yuan. Central China saw prices remain steady at 6,750–6,850 yuan. North China’s range was 6,200–7,150 yuan, unchanged. South China’s average was 6,950–7,050 yuan, while the Northeast saw prices at 6,400–7,100 yuan, with the high end down by 200 yuan. Northwest China reported prices at 6,500–6,600 yuan, with the high end also down by 200 yuan. Looking ahead, the market outlook remains influenced by supply conditions and transaction activity. The narrow consolidation in external xylene prices has brought more stability to the domestic market. As suppliers reduced quotes and accelerated shipments, inventory levels decreased, offering some support to future prices. However, the approaching holiday may lead to increased hesitation among traders. If downstream demand weakens, transaction volumes could drop, putting pressure on prices.
