Today, Yuchai Engineering Machinery has become the largest domestic production and export base for small construction machinery under a Chinese national brand. Its YC series excavators have gained widespread recognition, becoming well-known within the industry across China. As the only company in China specializing in small construction machinery, Yuchai has been at the forefront of this niche market since 1989, when it began developing small hydraulic excavators. The first small excavator was successfully trial-produced that same year, followed by mass production in 1990.
Over the past 16 years, Yuchai has accumulated extensive experience and technical expertise in the design and development of hydraulic excavators, particularly small ones. The company has developed ten major product series, including the YC13, YC18, YC135, and YC225 models, offering more than 60 varieties tailored for various applications such as traffic, municipal works, agriculture, and water conservancy projects.
Currently, Yuchai Construction Machinery operates with 800 sets of advanced production equipment and employs over 400 professional technical staff, enabling an annual production capacity of 8,000 units of small-scale construction machinery.
