Recently, the full set of compaction equipment for impact rollers manufactured by the Engineering Machinery Plant of the 20th Bureau Group was used for the first time in the subgrade construction of the test section of the Chongqing-Wushao High-Speed Railway. The results were impressive and demonstrated the effectiveness of this advanced technology in improving subgrade quality.
After the roadbed was compacted using a vibratory roller to meet the required density standards, an impact roller was employed for additional reinforcement and compaction. This secondary process led to a noticeable settlement of up to 8 centimeters, indicating significant improvement in the subgrade's stability. The overall uniformity and structural strength of the roadbed were markedly enhanced, proving that the combination of vibratory and impact compaction methods can significantly improve construction quality and long-term performance.
This successful application not only highlights the technical advantages of the impact roller system but also sets a new benchmark for subgrade construction in high-speed railway projects. The positive outcomes from this trial are expected to encourage broader adoption of similar technologies in future infrastructure developments, contributing to safer and more durable transportation networks.
