This is from Larry Shapiro:
On Saturday, October 22nd, 2016, just before 8 AM, firefighters from Buffalo Grove were called to 9 Springside Court due to smoke coming from the basement of a single-family home. Police officers arrived on the scene and reported that smoke was visible at the eaves of the house. BG Engine 26 confirmed the presence of smoke and requested an upgrade to a Code 4 working fire.
In addition to Buffalo Grove units, Palatine Engine 82, Long Grove Battalion 55, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Squad 51, Arlington Heights Engine 4, and Arlington Heights Ambulance 4 also responded. Several Buffalo Grove companies were in the middle of shifting crews when they received the call, showing the quick response and coordination among local fire departments.
Firefighters entered the basement and quickly extinguished the fire, which had already filled the entire house with thick smoke. The prompt action helped prevent further damage and ensured the safety of the residents.
