U.S. Initiates Two Counter-measures on Pressure Management

The China Minmetals Chemicals Import and Export Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday (21st) that on February 20, the US Commerce Department formally initiated an anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation against the circular welded stainless steel pressure pipe that was exported to the United States. There were five prosecutors in this case, including four American manufacturing companies such as Bristol Metals and LP, and one industry organization, the US Steel Workers Union, alleging dumping margins of 8.36% to 12.7%. The product involved is a circular welded stainless steel pressure pipe with an outer diameter of no more than 14 cm produced in China.

It is understood that the US International Trade Commission will make a preliminary ruling on damage on March 17, 2008. If there is any damage, the U.S. Department of Commerce will continue to investigate and make a preliminary ruling on the subsidy in April 2008 and make a preliminary ruling on dumping in July 2008.

In this regard, the China Minmetals Chemicals Import & Export Chamber of Commerce proposed that companies involved in the case should pay close attention to and respond actively to protect legitimate rights and interests.
