Still and Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 12/23/18

It was just after 4:45 AM on Sunday (December 23) when Engine 75 arrived at the scene near 117th and LaSalle Streets. They quickly reported a fire breaking out in a two-and-a-half story wooden building. Shortly thereafter, Battalion 22 requested a formal fire alarm and mentioned that flames had spread to two structures. As firefighters from Engine 75 began their efforts, they encountered significant fire in the attic of the wooden building. Despite the challenge, the team managed to force their way inside and successfully extinguished the blaze in the attic before it could escalate further. This firefighting operation was nothing short of impressive. The initial response was swift, and the firefighters' determination ensured that the fire didn’t spread to adjacent properties or cause more extensive damage. Their teamwork and expertise were evident in how they systematically tackled the situation.
