According to firefighters, the blaze originated in the basement where the furnace and water heater are located, at the address 15300 block of Honore Avenue.

"I’m a firefighter/paramedic with the Lockport Fire District. While responding to an incident, I came across a fire on Honore Avenue in Harvey around 15324 earlier yesterday morning. I managed to snap a few quick shots with my phone. It was a single-story structure, approximately 20 by 40 feet, with flames originating from the basement. The emergency response escalated to a full stoppage on their third alarm. Mutual aid was provided by Posen, Dixmoor, and Homewood."
