Bosch's new factory in Chengdu officially opened

It was learned from Bosch (China) that on July 31, Bosch Automotive Components (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. officially opened its doors. The Chengdu plant is the second production base invested and constructed by Bosch Chassis Control Systems Division following the Suzhou plant. "China is already the world's largest automotive market. Like other mature markets, China's demand for automotive safety technology is also increasing with the improvement of road safety awareness," said Dr Dirk Hoheisel, member of the board of directors of Robert Bosch GmbH. " The opening of the Chengdu plant enabled Bosch to respond more quickly to the needs of the western market, provide better services to local customers, and demonstrate our confidence in the future development of the Chinese automobile industry."

The new plant is located in the Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone and occupies an area of approximately 127,000 square meters, with a total investment of 880 million yuan. At present, the first phase of the project has been completed and the investment amount is 287 million yuan. The Bosch (Donghai) Automotive Technology and Testing Center, which opened in June this year, is mainly used for the testing of active safety technology and driver assistance systems. Prior to this, the Winter Automotive Technology Testing Center in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia, was completed and put into use in 2008.
