Working fire in Glencoe, 1-26-14

Here's what Larry Shapiro shared:

On a late Sunday night, I responded to a basement fire in Glencoe under similar weather conditions that Steve and Dan faced earlier at the 2-11 in Chicago. Fire crews made a strong interior attack and managed to contain the fire quickly. The home at 1201 Longmeadow Drive was located on a narrow, dead-end street that overlooked a golf course. The wind was blowing from the golf course, which created deep snow drifts along the street, making it even more challenging to navigate.

There wasn’t much to see in terms of fire activity, but the weather conditions were definitely the most notable part of this incident. It was tough working in those conditions, and I was happy to get back to my car and head home after the call.
