Visteon seizes China's automotive navigation market

According to news from US auto parts giant Visteon, Visteon Asia Pacific is increasing localized R&D efforts to assist U.S. vehicle companies in seizing the Chinese electronic navigation market.

Although China’s car navigation system is unlikely to reproduce the doubling of achievements in 2007, the Chinese car navigation application market is still promising. According to the forecasts of iResearch, the market for electronic map services in China will reach 1.5 billion yuan in 2010. One of the most important electronic map services is car navigation services.

Visteon introduced the first integrated navigation product designed entirely by Visteon China Technology Center. This section is a navigation product tailored for Chinese consumers and has been featured on the Mondeo-Zhisheng “Extraordinary” and “Luxury Sports” of the Changan Ford Mazda.

Ding Wanli, vice director of product development at Visteon Asia Pacific audio and entertainment information systems, said that in order to cooperate with vehicle customers, Visteon has vigorously promoted the development process. This product development took only 11 months, well below the typical development period of 18 months to 24 months.
