At just before midnight, Engine 76 arrived on the scene to find heavy fire burning in the rear of a three-story apartment building located at 1306-08 N. Kildare Avenue. Battalion 18 quickly took control of the situation and worked with his crew as they encountered intense flames spreading through the wooden porches and several units on the second and third floors. Meanwhile, Squad 2’s Snorkel unit deployed an elevated master stream, as the fire was reported to have burned through the roof. Despite the size of the fire, crews made quick progress, containing what appeared to be a significant blaze in a short amount of time.
