From Chi-Town Fire Photos:
As the clock ticked past midnight, Engine 76 arrived on the scene to find a three-story apartment building at 1306-08 N. Kildare Ave engulfed in heavy fire from the rear. Battalion 18 quickly took control of the situation, as his crew encountered intense flames spreading through the wood porches and multiple units on the second and third floors. Meanwhile, Squad 2's Snorkel unit deployed an elevated master stream, as reports indicated the fire had already burned through the roof. Despite the size of the blaze, crews worked swiftly and efficiently, managing what appeared to be a large volume of fire with remarkable speed.
This was a tough call for everyone involved—firefighters had to navigate challenging conditions while working under pressure. The incident highlights the importance of quick response and coordinated efforts during emergencies. As always, the dedication of the Chicago Fire Department remains evident in every rescue and suppression operation they carry out.
