I recently had the chance to visit Elk Grove Station 8 and saw some interesting things happening there. Scott Peterson stopped by and shared some great photos of Mount Prospect’s emergency vehicles stationed at this location. It's always fascinating to see how these units are utilized for training purposes.
One of the standout pieces of equipment I noticed was Mount Prospect Fire Department’s Tower 13. This impressive piece of machinery was set up right there at the station, providing an excellent opportunity for firefighters to practice their skills. The training tower is such a vital part of their preparation, allowing them to simulate real-world scenarios in a controlled environment. Scott’s photo captures Tower 13 in action, showing just how crucial these facilities are for maintaining readiness.
Speaking of readiness, Mount Prospect also has a fleet of state-of-the-art ambulances. One of the newer models, Ambulance 14, really caught my eye. Scott snapped a fantastic shot of it, highlighting its sleek design and advanced features. It’s clear that these ambulances are built not only for efficiency but also for comfort and reliability when transporting patients. Alongside Ambulance 14, there’s another Medtec ambulance, Ambulance 12, which Scott also photographed from different angles. These ambulances play a critical role in ensuring quick response times and high-quality care.
Another important vehicle in their arsenal is Tower Ladder 13, a Pierce Velocity model. Scott managed to capture an incredible image of this ladder truck fully extended, showcasing its impressive reach and capabilities. This type of equipment is essential for reaching heights that other vehicles can’t manage, making it indispensable during fires or other emergencies where access to upper floors is necessary.
As someone who appreciates community safety and preparedness, seeing all these resources in one place was truly inspiring. Each vehicle serves a unique purpose and together they form a well-oiled machine ready to protect the residents of Mount Prospect. Thanks to Scott Peterson for sharing his photos, as they offer a glimpse into the dedication and hard work put in by the Mount Prospect Fire Department.
