From John Tulipano:
When Steve shared the image of this fire, it reminded me to dig through my old files. By the time I got there, the situation was already under control. Firefighters were busy winding up their hoses and wrapping things up.
I must apologize for the quality of these photos. Back then, I was still quite new to photography and was still learning the ropes. It’s clear that my skills have improved since then, but these shots hold a special place in my collection as they remind me of how far I’ve come.
[Attached is one of the images I took that day. As you can see, the fire had been contained, and firefighters were starting to pack up their gear. The smoke still lingered, but the danger had passed.]
---
[Here’s another shot I managed to capture. You’ll notice the focus isn’t perfect, but it still gives a good sense of the scene. The firefighters were efficient and professional, even in what could have been a chaotic situation.]
---
[This final image shows the aftermath of the fire. Again, the composition may not be perfect, but it captures the essence of the event. It’s fascinating to look back at these moments and think about how much effort goes into protecting our communities.]
These photos are more than just memories—they’re a testament to the hard work of firefighters and the resilience of those affected by such incidents. I hope they provide some insight into the reality of firefighting during that era.

As someone who has grown alongside my interest in photography, I’m grateful for experiences like this. They’ve taught me patience, attention to detail, and the importance of being prepared for any situation. Looking at these images now, I’m reminded of how valuable it is to document moments, no matter how challenging they may seem at the time.
