Prospect Heights and Buffalo Grove have been added

Two new fire departments have been added to the site, though neither is fully complete yet. In Division 3, Prospect Heights has two stations. Station 39 is now fully posted, while Station 9 currently shows one of seven rigs. The remaining rigs are expected to be added this week. In Division 4, Buffalo Grove has three stations. The rig postings for these are still in progress, and some data needs updating to ensure accuracy. We’re working on refining that information as we go. We’d like to extend a big thank you to Karl Klotz for submitting most of the content for Division 19. This will take a few days to process and upload, as Division 19 doesn’t even have a MABAS page on the site yet. As with other divisions, there may be initial gaps in the department listings, but we’ll update them as time allows. Hank Sajovic generously contributed 115 images of Chicago Fire Department (CFD) firehouses. These will require several days of preparation before they’re all posted online. Hank mentioned that about 10–15 of the photos need updating from their original dates, and he plans to address those before the summer ends. Speaking of Hank’s collection, he’s also working on a book that will be released in the future—something to look forward to! As visitors to the site, please understand that we’re still in the early stages of development, which will take at least six months to fully stabilize. While we work through the backlog, we’ll post what we have available. Some images may be updated or replaced later if better-quality shots become available. For example, a rig might be shown from the officer’s side, which isn’t the standard view, or captured during an actual incident. Some photos may have been taken in less-than-ideal weather or from angles that the photographer would prefer to improve. We’ve chosen to post the images we have so that departments are represented as accurately as possible. When we get better shots or when other contributors submit improved images, we’ll update the site and note the changes. Additionally, most of the stations in Division 3 have been freshly photographed and should be added to the site this week, depending on availability and processing time. We encourage our readers to send in comments or emails regarding any apparatus that’s on order or has recently arrived. This helps us stay up-to-date and keep the site as accurate and informative as possible. Your input is always welcome!
