Two new fire departments have been added to the site, though neither is fully complete yet. In Division 3, Prospect Heights has two stations. Station 39 is now fully completed, while Station 9 currently has one of its seven rigs posted. The remaining rigs are expected to be uploaded this week.
Additionally, Buffalo Grove in Division 4 features three stations. However, the rig postings for these stations are still in progress, and some data will need to be updated for accuracy.
We’d like to extend a big thank you to Karl Klotz for submitting the majority of Division 19’s information for processing and uploading. Since Division 19 doesn’t yet have a MABAS page on the site, this process will take several days. As with other divisions, there may be initial gaps in the department listings, which we’ll update when possible.
Hank Sajovic generously shared 115 images of CFD firehouses. These will require some time to prepare before being posted online. Hank mentioned that about 10–15 of the photos need updating from their original capture, and he plans to address those before summer ends. Speaking of Hank’s Chicago firehouse collection, he’s working on an upcoming book that will be released in the future.
As visitors to the site, please keep in mind that as we continue to build and expand (which will take at least six months), we’ll be posting available images with the goal of improving them over time. Some photos might show the officer’s side of a rig, which isn’t the standard view, or they could depict a unit at an incident. Others might have been taken in less-than-ideal weather or from angles the photographer would prefer to change. We’ve decided to post what we have so that departments can be represented as accurately as possible. When better images become available or other photographers submit improved shots, we’ll update the site and note the changes.
Most of the stations in Division 3 have also been recently photographed and should be added to the site this week, depending on availability.
