Pakistan's fertilizer sales increase by 38% in November

According to Pakistan’s “Business Record” reported on November 29, the National Fertilizer Development Center of Pakistan (NFDC) recently released data showing that in November, fertilizer sales increased by 38% to 1.2 million tons in the same period last year, of which urea increased by 76% and diammonium phosphate ( DAP) decreased by 36%. From January to November 2010, the sales of chemical fertilizers in Pakistan totaled 7.8 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 2%, of which, urea fell by 1%, and DAP decreased by 19% to 1.2 million tons.
According to analysis by industry insiders, the main reason for the decline in DAP is price increase, with an average increase of 23% in 2010.
