Boron ore beneficiation technology

Different beneficiation methods are used depending on the type of ore .
1. Type szaibelyite
The laboratory of Liaoning Geological Center conducted a flotation test on this type of ore from the Houxianyu boron mine in Liaoning. The test ore adopts the middle ore remaining after hand selection, and the B 2 O 3 content is 7% to 8%.
The flotation process control conditions are: the ore size is 3~0 mm, the I section grinding fineness -200 mesh accounts for 40%, the graded overflow concentration is 25%; the II section grinding fineness -200 mesh accounts for 75%, the graded overflow The flow concentration is 14%. The flotation slurry has a pH of 6.5 to 7.0 and a flotation temperature of about 40 °C.
2. Borate - Magnetic iron ore - serpentine type
The main minerals of this type of ore are boehmite, magnetite and serpentine. Boraxite is mainly fibrous, and the particle size of impregnation is generally 0.05 to 0.10 mm. The magnetite is impregnated with a particle size of 0.30 to 0.1 mm and is closely associated with the boehmite. A weak magnetic separation or weak magnetic separation-flotation combined process is employed. Figure 1 is a single weak magnetic separation process for the stage grinding process and magnetic separation of the Ertaizi boron mine in Fengcheng, Liaoning.

    3. Boraxite-carbonate type
The main minerals of Gaotaigou boron mine in Jilin Ji'an are boehmite, serpentine and magnesite . This type of boron ore can be either preferential or mixed flotation. See Figure 2 and Figure 3.

    4. Boron magnesium petrochemical boron-magnesium iron ore-magnetite
Among such ores, boromagnesite, magnetite and serpentine are the main minerals. According to their specific magnetic susceptibility, a boron-magnesium iron concentrate can be obtained by using a weak magnetic-strong magnetic full magnetic separation process. The separation rate of ferro-boron can be determined by electric furnace smelting-pressure alkali hydrolysis method or direct reduction-magnetic separation method.
5. Uranium-boron-magnesium-iron-mineralized boehmite-magnetite type The main useful elements of this type of deposit are iron, uranium , boron and magnesium. The Wengquangou uranium-iron-boron deposit in Liaoning belongs to this category. The ore dressing method steps are: selecting magnetite by wet weak magnetic field; recovering crystalline uranium ore by re-election, and obtaining boron-magnesium iron concentrate; obtaining boron concentrate by hydrocyclone classification, and the total selection process is as follows: Figure 4.

In addition, during the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" period, "Comprehensive utilization of boron-iron resources - research on the production of boron-containing pig iron and boron-rich slag in the bor furnace of boron ore" was carried out by the Northeast University and other units to separate the blast furnace iron and boron, and to activate the boron-rich slag. Significant progress has been made in key technologies such as boron, boron, uranium separation and uranium treatment.
