On July 18, 2018, the Huludao Smart Grid Dispatching Control System (D5000), developed by Guodian NARI Power Grid Corporation and commissioned by Liaoning Power Grid, successfully passed the practical acceptance test organized by the State Grid Liaoning Power Dispatching Control Center. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the modernization of power grid management in the region.
In recent years, as China's economy continues to grow, the demand for electricity has surged. To meet this rising demand, the government has expanded its power grid infrastructure, leading to a more complex grid structure. With the increasing volume of data collected, effective grid dispatching has become a top priority. This has driven the development of smart grid dispatching control systems, which act as the "brain" of the power grid, ensuring safe, stable, and efficient operations.
Huludao’s previous dispatching automation system was outdated and unable to meet current operational needs. Recognizing this gap, local authorities initiated research into an advanced grid control system. This project holds great practical value, enhancing the city’s grid control capabilities and ensuring the safety, stability, efficiency, and quality of power supply.
The D5000 system was officially launched in 2016. Throughout its implementation, Guodian NARI worked closely with Huludao Power Supply Company to refine the platform and enhance its features. Key functions such as power flow calculation and intelligent alarm systems were integrated into daily operations, significantly improving the accuracy and safety of grid management. These improvements have enhanced both system security and operational performance, providing strong technical support for the reliable operation of the Huludao power grid.
On July 18, an expert panel from the Liaoning Power Dispatching Control Center, along with representatives from Benxi and Jinzhou power companies, conducted a thorough review of the D5000 system. Based on the "Management Acceptance Standards for Dispatching Automation Systems," they evaluated each function, performance level, and supporting documentation. The panel unanimously approved the system, confirming that it meets all practical acceptance requirements and is ready for full-scale operation.
This achievement not only reflects the progress of smart grid technology in Liaoning but also highlights the growing role of advanced automation in ensuring a more resilient and efficient power supply network across China.
