Yuchai Group Holds 2008 Professional Skills Competition Experience Exchange

The Yuchai Group's 2008 professional skills competition concluded successfully on October 18. To foster knowledge sharing and discuss the challenges and experiences gained during the event, an exchange contest was held on November 6th. Representatives from various departments and factories—including the Craft Equipment Factory, Accessories Company, Engineering Company, Information Technology Department, Foundry, Cold Processing Workshop, Yifachang, Erfachang, and Sanfa Factory—gathered to share their insights. A total of 28 participants from the Quality, Production, and Manufacturing Technology Departments took part in the session. The meeting was chaired by Rao Yingxian, Chairman of the Yuchai Labor Union. Rao Yingxian highlighted that since 2003, Yuchai has actively participated in professional skill competitions at both regional and national levels. In 2008, four Yuchai employees represented the Guangxi team in the finals of the 4th “Jianxing Cup” National Youth Professional Skills Competition, contributing to the team's sixth-place overall ranking. He praised the efforts of all participants and encouraged those competing in future company, regional, or national events to continue striving for excellence. At the meeting, the labor union and training center will collect and disseminate the experiences shared by everyone across the company. Participants discussed various aspects such as technical strategies, gaps in theoretical preparation, examination methods, and psychological training. They provided valuable suggestions for improving future competitions. During the meeting, Rao Yingxian emphasized two key points: first, the training system should incorporate new technologies, especially in software and numerical control areas, to enhance staff capabilities. Second, multi-skill and cross-functional training is essential for the future development of skilled workers. He urged participants to engage in diverse roles, learn across systems, and take part in multiple competitions to deepen their theoretical understanding and improve their ability to reflect and improve. Wan Shenglan, Director of the Training Center, noted that all participants had significantly improved their theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and mental resilience through various competitions. Moving forward, the training center will enhance information management and increase the intensity of training to elevate the overall skill level of the company’s workforce. The participants expressed deep gratitude to the teachers, factory staff, and company leaders for their continuous support. They pledged to strengthen their theoretical studies and practice basic skills more diligently. They aim to treat everyday work as a competition, continuously improve themselves, and make meaningful contributions to the company's growth and success.
