· Waymo plans to launch autonomous car taxi service in Phoenix this year

At the Google I/O conference just held, Waymo CEO John Krafcik said that the company's self-driving car taxi service will be officially launched in Phoenix this year. Considering that Waymo just launched the autopilot pilot project in November last year, the announcement of this announcement shows the company's confidence in its own autonomous driving technology.

The model used in the Waymo pilot project is Chrysler Pacifica, which is currently only available in a fenced area. The service is free but it is not clear who can participate in the project. The next thing that will happen to change is that there is only one thing: that is, from free to paid.

Regrettably, however, it is not clear whether the current pilot project will expand the geofence before the official launch.
