According to monitoring, the area of ​​midge in northwest China, Jianghuai and Huanghuai areas has rapidly increased, and the area of ​​aphids and wheat spiders has continued to increase in some areas. From the end of April to the end of May, pests and diseases in the main wheat producing areas of the country will enter the epidemic and damage. The Ministry of Agriculture requires the replanting of diseases such as wheat midge insects, locust larvae, and wheat spiders to combine “one spray and three defenses†(mixed spray, pest prevention, prevention of premature decay, and prevention of dry and hot winds) and seize the summer harvest.
It is understood that this year, Shaanxi entered the third round of wheat midge outbreak period since the founding of New China. Midge worms have been discovered or are about to occur in 48 counties in six cities including Minnan, Xi’an, and Xianyang. It is estimated that an area of ​​7.3 million mu will occur, accounting for Shaanxi’s wheat planting. More than 40% of the area poses a serious threat to the production of summer grain. At present, the re-emergence area averages 3.26 million heads per mu, which is 2.14 times that of the same period in 2011, of which Linyi District has a maximum of 27 million heads per mu and the situation of prevention and control is extremely severe. In the major provinces of Henan Province, the incidence of wheat diseases and insect pests is generally heavy. It is predicted that the area of ​​major insect pests will reach more than 133 million mu, of which the midge insects will obviously increase, with an estimated area of ​​11 million mu, a locust infestation area of ​​8 million mu, and an area of ​​5,500 mu of panicle blasts. . The area of ​​Maiji in Shanxi Province was 265 million mu, an increase of 540,000 mu over the previous year.
Interviews in major wheat producing areas have revealed that agriculture, plant protection, agricultural machinery, supply and marketing, and industrial and commercial sectors and pesticide companies have coordinated operations, implemented unified prevention and control technologies, and timely provided supplies for the prevention and control of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, diesel, etc., and strengthened pest and disease surveillance surveys. It is understood that at present, Shaanxi Province has organized specialized prevention and control teams to participate in the work of the unified prevention and control, and 10 domestic pesticide companies are used as cooperative units to strive to prevent and control an area of ​​10 million mu. The Plant Protection Work Station of Shaanxi Province has formulated a technical program for prevention and control of wheat midge insects. It is recommended to use pesticides such as chlorpyrifos, malathion, cypermethrin, imidacloprid, and thiamin, and pyrethroids with a long residual effect. In the general pest field, 60% to 70% of heading wheat can be controlled by chlorpyrifos and imidacloprid. For the mass field with more than 1 million mu of insects, the pesticide should be applied twice.
"The wheat midge insecticides control more than 50 milliliters of pesticides per acre. It is estimated that more than 300 tons of pesticides will be needed in Shaanxi Province this year. Currently, 80% of them have been purchased," Zhang Zhanli, director of the Division of Plant Protection of Shaanxi Plant Protection Work Station, told reporters.
