Japan's 23.2 billion yen to buy the most sophisticated seabed exploration ship

To investigate whether oil and natural gas are stored in Japan's offshore waters, on February 11, the Japanese government spent $23.2 billion to purchase a state-of-the-art resource exploration vessel for exploration of subsea structures from a Norwegian company.

The ship was named the "Resources" exploration vessel, with a length of 86 meters and a width of 40 meters. It is currently the world's largest resource exploration vessel. The ship can use acoustic waves to analyze the submarine structure, master the situation in the three-dimensional, and possess the most advanced performance to detect the reservoirs with oil and natural gas. It is reported that the Japanese government will use the ship to expand the exploration of seabed resources to 5,000 meters underground, and the exploration scope will cover the offshore areas of Japan that have not been involved so far.
