1, the advantages of vortex flowmeter.

(1) The structure is simple, firm, easy to install and maintain. There is no need for pressure guiding pipes and three-valve manifolds to reduce leakage, blockage and freezing.

(2) Wide measurement range, reasonable determination of caliber, range up to 20:1.

(3) High accuracy, generally ± (1 ~ 1.5)% R.

(4) Output pulse signal proportional to flow without zero drift.

(5) The pressure loss is small, about 1/4 to 1/2 of the throttling differential pressure flowmeter.

(6) Within a certain range of Reynolds number, the output frequency is not affected by the physical properties (density, viscosity) and composition of the fluid, that is, the meter factor is only related to the shape and size of the vortex generating body and the pipeline.

2, throttling differential pressure flowmeter advantages

(1) Wide range of applications. Not only applies to all single-phase fluids, but also can measure part of the mixed-phase flow, such as gas-solid, vapor-liquid, solid-liquid and so on.

(2) The standard orifice plate structure in throttling differential pressure flowmeter is easy to copy, simple and firm, stable and reliable performance, and low price. It can be used without real-time calibration, which is rare in flowmeters.

(3) Insensitive to vibration, superior in anti-interference ability.

(4) High pressure, high pressure and small flow are all suitable.

3, the limitations of vortex flowmeter

(1) The larger the aperture is, the lower the resolution is. Generally, the flowmeter is used below DN400 when it is full.

(2) It is sensitive to the mechanical vibration of the pipeline and should not be used for strong vibration.

(3) When the pressure of the fluid pulsates or the flow pulsates, the indicating value is significantly higher and has a greater influence, so it does not apply to the pulsating flow.

(4) When the fluid temperature is too high, the sensor still has difficulty. Generally the fluid temperature is ≤ 420°C.

4 throttling differential pressure flowmeter limitations

(1) The range is narrow. Because the instrument signal (differential pressure) and flow rate are squared, the general range is only 3:1 to 4:1.

(2) The measurement accuracy is moderate in the flowmeter. Due to the complexity of the influence of many factors, it is difficult to improve the accuracy.

(3) The pressure-inducing line between the throttling device and the differential pressure display instrument is a weak link, and it is prone to malfunctions such as leakage, blockage and freezing, and signal distortion.

(4) Large pressure loss (finger plate, nozzle).

(5) The on-site installation conditions are relatively high. If a long straight pipe section (finger plate, nozzle) is required, it is generally difficult to satisfy.
