In practical applications, there are usually several causes of errors in the flowmeter:

1. Most of the compressor and blower outlet fluid contain some pulsation. The fluid pulsation causes differential pressure flowmeters, vortex flowmeters and other flowmeters to show high values, causing the rotor to run up and down in the metal rotor flowmeter. In order to eliminate the effect of pulsation, a buffer tank is generally provided at the outlet of the compressor to filter out the pulsation, and the flow meter is installed behind the buffer tank; or the flow meter is installed at a place away from the pulsation source.

2. Compressed air is taken from the atmosphere, and the atmosphere always contains a certain amount of water vapor. The larger diameter orifice flowmeter used to measure the compressed air flow often has water in front of the orifice, which will affect the measurement accuracy. There is often a section of water in the pressure tube, which results in differential pressure measured by the differential pressure transmitter being inconsistent with the differential pressure generated by the throttling device. These are common causes of errors caused by airborne water.

3. Flowmeters for measuring compressed air are generally installed in the compressor room and the blower room, and the vibrations generated by the compressor and the blower can be transmitted to the remote area through air ducts or ducts. The vibration causes the vortex flow sensor to generate an interference signal corresponding to the vibration frequency, causing the flow indication to be significantly higher.
