7-year-old girl is suspected of being abused to death: local psychological counseling for special children

Taiyuan, May 22 (Xinhua) On the 22nd, the Pingshun County Government of Changzhi City in Shanxi Province issued news that on the 16th, Li Yanqin, a suspected criminal suspect suspected of ill-treatment of a 7-year-old girl who died of her death, was arrested according to law. After the incident, Pingshun County Politics and Law, Women's Federation, education and other related departments focused on the left-behind children, foster children, children of divorced families, etc., and recorded archives. Teachers were designated to provide life care and psychological counseling.

According to reports, at 6 pm on May 6, 2012, the 7-year-old girl Shen Shanran of Shannan Di Village in Pingshun County was found unconscious in his stepmother Li Yanqin's leasing home. Later, the stepmother dialed 120. After arriving at the hospital, the doctor found Shen Shenran dead.

At 19:54 on May 6, Pingshun County police received an alarm that a girl died in the People's Hospital of Pingshun County. The cause of death was unknown and she had bruising. After receiving the alarm, the local police immediately launched an investigation. On May 7, the Public Security Department of Pingshun County asked the Changzhi City Public Security Judicial Center to conduct an autopsy on the deceased. The autopsy results showed that Shen Ruran was blunt and violent during his lifetime and led to intestinal rupture, secondary abdominal infection, and eventually died of septic shock.

After the investigation, the deceased Shen Shenran, female, 7 years old, was born on February 12, 2007. He is a native of the Sun Nan Primary School kindergarten in Pingyang County. At the age of one year of Shen Ran, the parents had separated because of their feelings. In July 2009 Shen Shenran’s father Shen Ergang and his mother Zhang Haixia were divorced and the court decided that Shen Shenran was raised by his father Shen Ergang. In September 2010 Shen Shenran’s father Shen Ergang and his stepmother Li Yanqin combined their families.

At the beginning of April 2012, Li Yanqin lived in the house rented by the family house of Pingshun County Epidemic Prevention Station. On May 7, Li Yanqin was detained by the Public Security Department of Pingshun County for criminal detention on suspicion of abuse. On May 14, the Pingshun County Public Security Department submitted an arrest to the Pingshun County People’s Procuratorate. On May 16, Pingshun County People’s Procuratorate approved the arrest on the suspicion of ill-treatment.

After the incident, Pingshun County Party Committee and County Government organized several meetings of political and legal affairs, public security, women’s federations, and education departments to hold meetings to inform the case and hold a campus safety conference in the county. Since then, Pingshun County Politics and Law, Women's Federation, Education and other related departments have formed working groups to conduct a thorough investigation of the situation of students and children in primary and middle schools across the county.
